фирменный страховой агент
Агент, представляющий определенную страховую компанию или компании. В области страхования жизни и пенсий фирменный агент может представлять только одного страховщика и давать публике консультации относительно полисов, предлагаемых только одной этой компанией. При общем страховании (автомобилей, домашнего имущества, отпусков и т.д.) фирменный агент представляет не более шести страховщиков, которые несут совместную ответственность за финансовые последствия провалов или ошибок, допущенных агентом. В обоих случаях агент получает комиссионные с каждого проданного полиса, а также комиссионные за каждое последующее возобновление полиса. Комиссионные рассчитываются как определенный процент от общей страховой премии, уплаченной держателем полиса. Различия между двумя типами фирменных страховых агентов вытекают из Закона о финансовых услугах 1986 г. и Общего кодекса продажи страховых услуг 1989 г., принятого Ассоциацией британских страховщиков (Association of British insurers).
